USERS REVIEWS:
. With the correct speakers and set up properly (with a decibel meter), the F-twelve is an outstanding sub for the asking cost. Genuinely a great bargain and 1 heck of a warranty. This frequency response trough is most likely the explanation why some reviewers claim that the F-twelve sounds “muddy”. For instance, Paired with NHT Superzeros, which fall off a cliff at about 85-90Hz, some of the “punchiness” is lost. I purchased it for my 13x20x9 price range media area which is currently underneath development but have been employing it in my two channel method for kicks over the final two weeks. The low frequency extension is excellent(down 4db at 25Hz in my room) and I would think about it pleasantly musical with speakers capable of flat response at or under 80Hz (which is not asking significantly). It is when this sub is paired with quite tiny speakers that it starts to tarnish typical of several ported subwoofers, it just doesn’t perform well over the 80Hz variety. . . As an audiophile who has had numerous really substantial finish (Meridian, Cello, McIntosh, B&W, Proceed. ) parts in and out of my methods more than the years, I can say wholeheartedly that the F-twelve is an outstanding value for the 0-0 retail cost
. . . It does generate 25hz sine wave tones, but at quite reduced levels that is generally not audible relative to the increased frequencies this sub can make. . . Output degree is basically flat from 50hz to 20hz with no much of peaks or dips. Running one/three octave sine wave check tones by means of the two manufacturers, this twelve” sub is very peaky at about 60hz, and output starts to fall rather steeply beyond 40hz-35hz. . It is excellent for creating explosion sounds or pop music that is heavily equalized from 50hz to 80hz, but extremely poor at making loud and clean very low frequency notes of a massive pipe organ under 35hz. . . I actually have a pair of 10″ SVS subs, and then bought this 12″ sub for a buddy. I actually do own the ten” SVS (now out of production at 9) and tested this twelve” sub, and the 10″ SVS beats this twelve” in ALL facets: accuracy, distortion, reduced frequency output, reduced frequency response linearity. And at about 20hz, you can certainly hear doubling effects from this sub, where there is rather a great deal of 2nd harmonics at 40hz present. . But it is not comparable to some of the on the web sub merchants such as Hsu, SVS, Rythmik, Epic, and so forth. So, this sub is not really loud at reduced end bass beneath 30 hz, has a rather poor bass response linearity (really peaky), and generates as well much of 2nd order harmonics at its reduced finish response (will make some music this kind of as pipe organs sound like one note bass). . SVS, allowed only ten”, but a lot greater motor construction and a lot more than twice the cost (verify out the a lot of technical reviews, epsecially with measurements from Audioholics and such), with room boundary results, went all the way down to 16hz with reasonably robust output at 20hz (you are not able to hear significantly of sound, but almost everything rattles in the room). . . . . This twelve” is a a lot greater get than any other widespread brand name sub this sort of as JBL at twice the value, and it is a genuinely, really great sub for the cost, but there is no purpose to exaggerate it is overall performance as it is even now only a mediocre product when compared to real subs such as SVS, Rythmik, or Hsu and the likes. . . It is unheard of for a sub to expense less tan 0, and in this facet, this sub is a steal, specifically if the purchaser is only aware of B&M manufacturers this kind of as Polk, Boston Acoustics, Kilpsch, JBL, and so on. For individuals who keep on attacking and criticizing some reviewers who gave less than stellar feedback about this sub since they do not like to hear the truth about this product (that is it only mediocre in producing actual low bass), you can verify this by getting some completely free check tones (this kind of as the Bink Audio CD, free of charge from online) and a spectrum testing freeware and a check mic (low cost from Beringers) and test distinct subs by your self. . I did some testing with not only music but because wave check tones
It has much more than sufficient energy for tiny rooms, and sufficient power for medium rooms. Operates excellent for motion pictures, and performs properly for music if your front speakers can go 80hz or reduce. . You have to experiment a small to get rid of any “boomy-ness” from your listening location. This is almost certainly 1 of the ideal 3 subs that you can on a regular basis come across for 0 or much less. If it really is on sale, buy it. The downside is locating very good room placement
