The speakers lack the massive frequencies. . I set my expectations also substantial and have to remind myself of the price tag. I purchased 4 of the RC80i for surround sound in my residing room, lefts and rights for the two front and back speakers. They’re good when listening to movies but you can hear the variation when listening to music. Unfortunately, I was hoping for a tiny greater fidelity. The grilles fit snug and I am positive will be a challenge if I ever have to remove them. The directional tweeter style is great and a must with in-ceiling speakers. The mounting was very effortless. My rationale in getting in-ceiling speakers was the want not to have a area filled with visible speakers. Just cut the holes through the template and slide them in
„) The speaker grill is quite tough to get rid of, but you only have to do that after, and you want it to match snugly anyways. That made it a tiny messier, but it ended up fine. . The mounting brackets securely fasten to the wall so there is no shaking or rattling. These speakers are fantastic. Installation was much less difficult simply because the big, 8″ opening you cut into the wall/ceiling can make it much simpler to fish speaker wire. These are voice matched to the Polk “Monitor” series speakers, so match with any other RC series in-wall speaker, CS1 or CS2 center channel speaker, and PSW10 or PSW12 subwoofer. The tweeter can very easily pivot to aim at your listening place. My only 2 complaints, which have been not enough to drop the rating, are:ƒ) The speaker cutout template turned out to be a tad tiny, and I had to go about with a keyhole saw yet again to make it one/8″ larger to match the speaker all the way
Awesome. The set up is fairly simple as nicely. As with the other critiques, I had a devil of a time acquiring the speaker grilles off, and was afraid I could pull out one particular of the small holes with the paperclip. I put in a pair of these in the kitchen, right after which my wife and I each had one of those mouth-open, “wow” experiences. . I found that with a carefully lower hole I had no difficulties at all with speaker insertion. Polk would do greater to package deal these with the grilles off so that the installer can skip that stage. Bottom line: I enjoy these and hugely advise them. They flood the space with deep, wealthy sound: crips highs and full, round lows. . Nevertheless, I found that placing them back on was simple – you just have to make sure you put them back on with an even insertion on all edges and then perform your way all around tiny by small. you can not entirely insert them on 1 end and make the rest fit, they are that tight. . You can angle the tweeters to “aim” them far better, but I did not want one particular sweet spot in the kitchen, so I left them pointing immediately downwards
